From the informative blog,  everydayUX,  a look at smartlock; a lock and key system that makes usage easier. Simple, subtle changes can help make a consumer or a user succeed, and in the end feel better about a particular brand.

I listened to Steve Case and current AOL CEO Tim Armstrong talk about AOL’s recent anniversary.  What struck me was Tim’s assertion that the next phase of the internet is about content, better content that will satisfy users.

In their effort to revise its privacy policy, Facebook reminds us to put the customer first.  Facebook failed to recognize (and ignored criticism) that users have distinct lives inside Facebook and outside Facebook.  It put its brand at risk by not considering the reaction and perspective of the user.

I think helping the consumer gain knowledge and succeed is a win win for all. What can I do today to help the end users of my efforts succeed?
